Introducing Bolshaya Polyana(in English - Large Clearing [in the woods]), the village where my dad was born and raised, where my sister and I spent our school-free summers, and where our babushka still lives all by herself.
The village is located about 450 km to the south from Moscow in a very fertile part of Western Russia called Central Black Earth Region. The name is meant to reflect the color of its soil. But what you see in the pictures is a typical Russian village no matter what part of Russia you are in.
